How to Redeem a Fortnite Gift Card
V-Bucks gift cards are redeemed against your Epic Games account rather than a single device, and once redeemed the V-Bucks are available wherever you play. The process takes a minute, but there are two things that catch people out: which card you actually bought, and the difference between redeeming a card and entering a creator code.
Redeeming the card
Go to fortnite.com/vbuckscard and sign in with the Epic account you want the V-Bucks on. Scratch the panel on the back of the card to reveal the code, enter it, and confirm.
Double-check which account you're signed into before you confirm. Redeeming to the wrong account is the most common and least reversible mistake here — if you have both an old account and a current one, sign out fully first rather than assuming.
The V-Bucks appear immediately and are shared across every platform linked to that Epic account.
Card types, and which platform they work on
A V-Bucks card bought for a specific platform is generally restricted to that platform's ecosystem. A card bought as a general Fortnite V-Bucks card redeems against the Epic account and works everywhere.
Read the back of the card before buying as a gift. If the recipient plays on PlayStation and you buy a card tied to a different platform's store, it won't transfer, and Epic can't move it for you.
Gift cards for the Epic Games Store are a different product from V-Bucks cards — store credit can't be spent on V-Bucks.
A creator code is not a gift card
These get confused constantly. A gift card gives you V-Bucks. A creator code (Support-A-Creator) is entered at checkout and directs a share of what you spend to a creator, at no extra cost to you — it doesn't give you anything.
You enter a creator code during a purchase, not on the gift card redemption page.
When a code is rejected
Check for character confusion first: gift card codes are printed in a font where 0 and O, and 1 and I, are easy to mistake. Most rejected codes are typos.
If the scratch panel damaged the code, or the card was never activated at the till, the retailer has to resolve it — keep your receipt, because Epic can't verify a card it has no activation record for.
Region restrictions apply to some cards. A card bought in one region may not redeem on an account registered in another.
Never enter a gift card code on a site that isn't Epic's own. Sites offering free V-Bucks, code generators or 'verification' of your card are scams, and there is no legitimate way to generate V-Bucks codes.
