The free battle pass track awards cosmetics every season without paying anything. It's smaller than the paid track but it's genuinely free.

Epic runs periodic in-game events and challenges that award cosmetics for completing objectives. These are announced in-game and on Epic's own channels.

Some cosmetics come with account actions — Epic has historically rewarded enabling 2FA, for example.

Platform and hardware promotions occasionally include exclusive cosmetics, which is a real route but usually involves buying something else.

Why generators are always fake

V-Bucks are issued by Epic's servers against a purchase or a reward. There is no mechanism by which an external website can create them, and no bug that has ever allowed it. A site claiming otherwise is describing something technically impossible.

What those sites actually do falls into a few categories: harvesting Epic logins to steal accounts, running "human verification" that farms ad revenue or signs you up to paid subscriptions, or installing malware.

Entering your Epic credentials on any site that isn't Epic's own is how accounts get taken. Once taken, an account with a valuable locker is often resold, and recovering it is slow and sometimes impossible.

If you've already used one

Change your Epic password immediately, and change it anywhere else you reused it.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app, which stops a stolen password alone being enough.

Check the email address and connected accounts on your Epic account — attackers change these to lock the real owner out.

If you've lost access, Epic Games player support is the only route. No third-party service can recover an Epic account, and ones claiming to are running the same scam again.
